is the ultimate floating resort. Launched in 1998, the Grand Princess is one of the first ships in the Princess cruise fleet. At one time, it was the largest ship on the sea. It has since been surpassed in size by modern mega-ships, but at 109,000 tons and 951 feet with a maximum capacity of 3,100 passengers, the Grand Princess is still pretty impressive in size. She sails to the Southern Caribbean.
Grand Princess Recreation
From live performances to enlightening educational lectures, there is no shortage of things to do onboard Grand Princess. The ship was recently outfitted with Princess cruise favorite Movies Under the Stars, a 300-square-foot LED screen located in the main pool area and screening concerts, films, and television events like the Super Bowl. Passengers are invited to snuggle up for some entertainment under the stars. That's not all Grand Princess has to offer. There's a casino, a grand theater showcasing lavish productions, two lounges with nightclub-style entertainment, and several bars with live music, comedy, and dancing. During the day, enjoy sunning yourself on the ship's four pools, relax in one of four hot tubs, squeeze in a workout in the onboard fitness center, or pamper yourself with a spa treatment. Grand Princess also features a lap pool, mini-golf course, golf simulators, jogging track, and sports court. Shop in duty-free boutiques, check your email in the 24-hour Internet cafe, or find some peace and quiet in the library and writing room. Grand Princess also features a number of enrichment programs that range from computer classes to craft workshops. For younger passengers, there's dedicated activity space in the teen and youth centers as well as a splash pool, teen hot tub, and video arcade.
Grand Princess Food
Grand Princess passengers have a seemingly limitless number of options when it comes to dining, and like all Princess cruise ships, the dining experience onboard is endorsed by the Chaine des Rotisseurs gastronomic society. Whether you choose traditional fixed dining or anytime dining, meals in the main dining room are elegant and delicious with only the best service. The ship's specialty restaurants, Sabatini's and Sterling Steakhouse, feature deluxe a la carte menus with Italian cuisine and steak for a small fee. Balcony passengers are welcome to indulge in the Ultimate Balcony Dining experience with a romantic in-suite meal with private service. For 24-hour snacks and meals, the Horizon Court serves a buffet around the clock and room service is also available day and night. The Trident Grill services burgers and hot dogs poolside. There's also a wine bar, patisserie, ice cream bar, pizzeria, and daily afternoon tea service.
