Let the 848 foot Norwegian Sun whisk you off to the Caribbean sun in what Norwegian Cruise Line dubs the ‘Freestyle Cruising’ experience. What this means is that the ship’s 1,936 guests have access to all that you would expect to find in a top-class land based resort available to them on this floating paradise. Examine the evidence, and it is difficult to argue.
Norwegian Sun – What to do
It is quite unusual to find an art gallery on a cruise ship, but this is just one of the unique features of Norwegian Cruise Line cruises. Visitors can browse a selection of original work by a variety of artists, some of whom you may even recognise. Elsewhere, Norwegian Sun houses a superb fitness centre and spa, as well as catering for joggers, golfers and basketball and volleyball enthusiasts.
Following your work out, why not head into Champs Bar for a rewarding beverage to cool you down? Guests can find all sorts of different ambiences and atmospheres in which to unwind, from the Champagne Bar to the Sports Bar, the poolside haven at Topsiders to the relaxed piano music at Windjammer. A particular favourite is the Observation Lounge, the perfect place to sit down with a cocktail and watch that perfect sunset. For a big night on the town, Dazzles Nightclub offers everything you need, while the Stardust lounge lays on lively shows every evening.
Norwegian Sun – Where to eat
The full range of talents possessed by NCL’s award-winning chefs is evident in Norwegian Sun’s two main dining areas, the Four Seasons and the Seven Seas. The former leans more towards a traditional style of cooking, while the latter has the potential to offer something a little more out there and unexpected. Western Europe is well represented, with the best of France on the menu at Le Bistro, traditional Italian meals served at Il Adagio and a fine selection of hot and cold tapas to choose from at Las Ramblas Tapas Bar and Grill.
From the west to the Far East, Ginza Sushi offers an authentic Asian dining experience, while what you eat is really up to you at the Grand Outdoor Café’s sprawling buffet. Those searching for a healthy option can find the solution at Pacific Heights, which serves low fat versions of all your favourite dishes.
The Staterooms of Norwegian Sun
Since her launch in 2001, Norwegian Sun has provided the best quality accommodation for all her guests, from the plush Owner’s Suites to the more basic Inside Staterooms. The Owner’s Suites really are the height of luxury, with a private terrace and hot tub area, separate bedroom and living area, walk in closet and a butler and concierge on hand should you need anything.
The Romance Suites offer the perfect retreat for holidaying couples, while the Penthouses and Mini Suites are both comfortable and spacious. All offer splendid ocean views from their private balconies. Balcony Staterooms also boast spectacular views through their floor-to-ceiling windows, and this view may well be the sight that greets you as you wake up.
Oceanview Staterooms continue the trend of fine views and remarkably comfortable beds, while the Inside Staterooms provide the comfort and convenience needed to form the perfect base for your stay.
